Well, I'm kinda excited. I had a long-ish, but productive day at work. I changed my school stuff around so I wouldn't have to sit in a classroom for 4 hours. I'll be starting UoPhoenix online on April 11. Should work out well now. My friend, Jennifer (who works at UofPonline) helped me out a lot in trying to fix my schedule and all. She also gave me a few pointers on how to pay for classes. Since my work only pays about $5000 a year for school, and each class is about $1500, I will not be getting my degree in 2 years. Sooooo I'm going to take out student loans instead. Sure this seems like a bad idea to some, but taking out a loan is good. It's low low interest and I can consolidate all my bills into 1 basically (other than my car payment). I will pay off my credit cards and get rid of fees and high interest rates. Anywho, I am doing it.
So I'm happier about going to school. And I can still go to happy hour. And next week I am going back to the gym .. hopefully .. NO I am. As long as nothing else comes up. NO. No matter what I am going. As long as I can remember to bring my gym stuff to work lol. I know if I have to go home to get my stuff I will not go back out.
But I have been going to the grocery store and getting healthier food to eat. Chicken, and steak, and pork, and fish. And I am cooking in the new oven! It's great. Ken helps out too. He grills. It's really cool. I am starting to enjoy cooking. Though all I really do is throw stuff in the oven.
So, yeah.
Good stuff for now. Saturday is the party. I will post pics. But I will probably post tomorrow as well.
This has been an interesting week. Not so much in a good way, but not in a bad way either.
My co-worker, Henry, was 26 years old. He got in the back of his cousins truck, along with his 15 year old cousin, and before he could sit down his cousin that was driving took off. This is how he and his 15 year old cousin died. His cousin that was driving blew 2x over the normal alcohol level. He died in the hospital yesterday. It's a tragedy. The viewing is Friday and the services and burial are Saturday.
Some other co-workers and I went to lunch yesterday at one of his favorite restaraunts, Teakwoods Tavern & Grill. It was a nice little tribute.
I start school today at The University of Phoenix. I'm taking a Gen300 class, which is kind of like an intro class getting people prepared for school. The only problem is that I wasn't paying attention and signed up for a classroom class instead of an online class. So now I have to sit in a classroom for 4 HOURS. This might just suck. Not to mention that Thursdays are girls night. I'm going to see if Ali is willing to change the night.
Saturday Ali is throwing a Passion Party. I'm kind of excited because I've never been to one. It's going to be nice because everyone is going to bring a bottle of wine and there will be appetizers like cheese and crackers and munchies and stuff.
I'm trying to think of other things I can write, but I can't think of a damn thing.
Hm. Ok. Well, maybe I will have more to write this afternoon.

Wow ... I just can't believe it.
I was debating whether or not to come to work today, like I do every Monday. I dragged my butt out of bed and got ready for work. There was more traffic than usual today. Strange. So I get to work a couple minutes late.
I still can't believe it.
I walk into work and come to find out that one of the guys about my age, 25 or so, had died over the weekend in a car accident. Wow. I am in shock. It feels so surreal. I didn't know him very well, and we didn't talk much. But he was the type of guy that went out of his way to say Hi to you no matter what. He was always smiling, and a very positive person all around. He did A LOT to help everyone, and not just at work.
He traveled a lot of places to help other people and also for his own personal trips. Anything he wanted to do he did.
This is hitting everyone in the office really hard. Many people were close friends with him. People are crying.
It makes me really sad to see people in so much pain. I have never lost a close friend, only elderly relatives due to old age and the such. I don't really know what to feel. I am definitely sad, but I think the only reason I would start crying is because I see everyone else in so much pain.
People are trying to make the best of it, I can tell. Trying not to think about it. How are you supposed to do that? Especially when you're at work. Everyone I talk to keeps saying that they still expect him to walk through the door.
For such a good person to die at such a young age ... it truely is a tragedy.
So, I had jury duty yesterday.
It was in downtown Phoenix and I had to be there by 9:30am. I slept in till 8, got dressed and was out of the house at 8:30. I figured an hour was enough time. It was. The building was really nice. It was all glass and very open. 6 floors. The inside was all open, only offices on the South side of the building. I was number 38 out of about 50-ish. We went into the court room and 1-15 sat in the jury box. As people got excused, everyone else filled the spots. I'm glad I was so late in numbers. I really didn't have an excuse to get off the jury, and I really didn't want to do it if I didn't have to.
I made a friend though. She is really cool. We talked almost the whole time, which made the time go by quickly. She was number 20, so she got picked to be on the jury.
All I really have to say is
Thank Goodness
IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
This has been a long week .. again. Like I've said before, they are ALL long weeks. I think I just need a new job to stimulate my brain.
Or maybe I will go back to school. Jennifer works for UoP and was telling me about this Management Degree I can get, and it's a really short program since I have an associates degree. I'm going to look into the classes, ask HR if the classes are something that would be covered by the company, and if they are, I'm definitely taking classes. I really want to get my bachelors degree. I really think it will help me find a better job.
Just gotta think outside the box ;-)
Ken is so awesome.
He left school,
picked me up from work
and took me to lunch.
I appreciate everything
you do for me.
Thank you so much!
So my A.D.D. is kicking in hardcore today. We have a pot luck lunch today, which basically starts when people come in to work. I ended up making some deviled eggs, which people really liked, and brought in a small pasta salad I bought from the grocery store. Other people brought stuff in like doughnuts, meats & cheeses, fruit, cookies, candies, chips, soda, and other dishes. So I've been eating since 8am. I had a lot of sugar too, so I'm like all over the place.
I decided to make a photo album from Kodak.com with all the pictures I have on there. It's a photo album of Ken and I, of course. (we're kinda sickening I know, but it's really ok) I'm really excited about it.
Ugh, I have jury duty tomorrow. I don't wanna go!! Not to mention Happy Hour tomorrow might be cancelled :( Oh well. I'll be saving money right? Right.
Last night, on WoW, I ended up leaving my guild. Not because of anything anyone in particular has done *cough* Leffy *cough* but because I went to Principality of Zeon to be with Ken and a couple other friends who decided to join. It's a really cool guild and I've been doing stuff with the members since I was lvl 55-ish. I was even with them on their first ever LBRS run! That was cool. I hope no one in HoR things poorly of me. I really like most people there (Mitten for one!!) and it was a lot of fun. The problem I had was with scheduling issues with the raids. I don't get home till 5, which means that I have 1 hour before raiding starts. I have been trying to make dinner at home because it's healthier and cheaper, and 1 hour just won't cut it. Not to mention that I sometimes have things to do after work - happy hour, pedicures, chiropractor. I'll be more than willing to help them out if they need an extra, but PoZ is a bit more laid back, since they are newer and smaller (only about 17 or so 60s as of yesterday, but a lot of people are getting up there!!).
So this whole week has just been one big lazy day for me. I have been slacking so much, it's not even funny. I've been blogging, redesigning my blog layout, making photo albums, eating a lot, and basically doing whatever I can to procrastinate. I do it pretty well. Though my numbers are lacking at work, I can always make up some excuse if they ask.
So I tweaked the design around a bit. Mostly just changed the colors. What do you all think? I like it. So, yea.
It's only Tuesday. This sucks. Oh and to make this week so much better, I have jury duty Thursday! BLEH!!! I have to drive into Phoenix, during rush hour, to get to the court house. I'm so glad I only live about 8 miles from work and I don't have to deal with highway traffic. Hopefully I get on a good case. That might actually be fun. The last time I went I got picked for this case where we suppoed to determine if this guy who sexually assaulted a minor was a mental case. Well DUH! Of course he is. But they said they would be showing explicit pictures, and I don't want to even think about that, let alone see it! So I got off that jury and went home. Guess we'll see. I'll keep everyone updated.
My work has their Websense up again. That is the program that blocks all my favorite websites. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. Kinda tempermental, which is good for me.
I wonder what is going on this week for our girls night, which is also on Thursday, so I might really need a drink or two after jury duty.
So I ordered new sneakers for the gym, good ones unlike my Sketchers, and a new outfit to get me motivated to go. There is a gym around the corner from my place, so it's not like its a chore to get there. I'm just lazy. I'm going to start the day after I get my shoes, no matter what. Ok, unless if I have something planned prior, but NO EXCUSES this time!!! I'm paying for it, I might as well go. Not to mention I have been gaining weight since all I eat is basically pasta since it's the easy thing to make for dinner.
We need a new oven. The heating element is broken so I can't cook anything in the oven. The top part works, so pasta is even easier to cook. I bought these one-dish meals by Campbells which Ken loves (and so do I) but we need the oven for it. They are kind of high is sodium, but for the most part they are healthy, I think. Either way, we need a new one and they are like minimum $500. But there is a Sears Outlet store in Mills so we might go check that place out.
It seems like everything is breaking too. First the oven, now the cable modem is going. We keep losing connection and Cox said that it's because of the modem, not their service. Ken has had the modem for 4 years, so it kind of makes sense, I suppose. So that's another $80. Seems like everything goes at the same time. Either a couple big things, or a bunch of smaller ones. Oh well, it's really not that big of a deal.
Other than that, everything is pretty much the same. The guys want to go to Jillians this weekend, but I dunno. I hate driving. We'll see though. I'd rather stay local and go bowling. But that's just me. I like being close to home.
So I got bored and decided to change my blog. I know .. same colors and all. But, I am limited in what I can do while I am at work. Soooo, I will change it again when I get home .. maybe .. if I feel up to it.
Anywho, can people please leave comments because I want to make sure that I entered the comment information correctly. Thanks!
I hate Mondays. More so I hate Monday mornings. I am definitely not a morning person, especially if I get woken up by an alarm clock.
So this weekend Ken and I went to Flagstaff and Sedona. I wouldn't say it was a good trip, but it definitely wasn't bad either. I just think that Flagstaff is just over-done. We need to find a new vacation spot. It's just that there isn't much to do there, and Sedona never changes. There was snow there, and there were some flurries. All-in-all, it was nice to get away, but I also want to have a good time and do something. Not just sit around all day. I can do that at home. We ended coming home early yesterday, around 3. We usually spend the day in Sedona and don't get home until 8 or 9 or so. The other thing was that I, for some reason, wasn't in the best of moods this weekend. Probably something to do with allergies and pms or something. But that's not even what made the weekend not so good. So now, we have to decide where to go next.
Not only is it Monday morning, which means I am tired, but work has also blocked the HoR website and Myspace. I'd rather have the HoR website up than myspace, but there isn't anything I can do about that. It totally sucks. I have no way to pass the time other than actual work. But, with what I do, my mind starts to go numb around 10am. That's only 2 hours of working! I hate data entry. Man I need a new job :( No one wants to hire me!
I'm sure my time will come soon enough. Would be nice to get into a smaller company that's more relaxed and close-knit. Some place where I can wear jeans would be totally awesome. But I doubt that. I would also love to work from home .. haha .. I dunno if that would be good for me though. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if I had a quota to meet and after I met that quota I would be done for the day. That would be hot.
Oh well. We'll see in time what will happen.
Woohoo! I am super excited for this weekend. And, no, not because it's St. Patrick's Day today. Tomorrow Ken and I are getting away. I love these weekends. Just get away, not too far, but not too close. There should be snow up in Flagstaff as well, so it will be nice to see for a bit. I love going to Sedona too. It's so pretty there!!
This week has just been .. well, ok, I guess it hasn't been horrible, but it was all that good either. Just like every week! Surprise surprise.
Meh ..
Maybe this weekend is what I need. A refresher. We'll see.
Everyone have a
safe and fun
st. patrick's day
(I'm off to get my massage!! What a way to start the weekend)
Man work this week is sucking big time. Though I took 1/2 day Monday and called in sick on Wednesday (man these allergies are kicking my butt). Ken has this week off cause he's on spring break, but he has to go in to work today.
This weekend is gonna be so awesome. Ken and I are heading to Flagstaff/Sedona for the weekend. I am so looking forward to this. I don't even care that it is St. Patrick's Day on Friday! I don't really drink all that much anymore so I'm not missing out on anything.
I really need a new job .. This seems to be the recurring theme in my posts. I really don't enjoy it at all. It's way too monotonous and I'm not even all that crazy about the people I work with. At least if I actually talked to people it would be different. But I don't have anything in common with the people I work with. Oh well. I've been looking and haven't really been contacted back. Just means that the jobs weren't right for me ..
So I'm debating on whether or not to go to Happy Hour tonight. If I am going away this weekend I really shouldn't so I have the money to spend up there. I think that is a good idea. On my way home I will stop at the grocery store and pick stuff up, that will be so much cheaper.
Maybe when I get home I will attempt to make some deviled eggs. I need to make them before next Wednesday cause we are having a pot-luck lunch that day. I'll make them tonight, see how that goes, and if they turn out well enough then I will make more on Tuesday evening. If not, I will go to the store Tuesday and buy them! haha.
I want to start making dinner home more often, but Ken's oven is broken :( The bottom heating element in the oven (the Baking element? not the broiling element) is broken and we can't seem to find the correct part. We tried using the model number that we found on the oven, but it doesn't seem to be the correct one. So we'll have to get a new one ...
So, at work they are giving us the option to work 4 10-hour days. W00t! I think I'd rather have mondays off. I hate Mondays. But that means I can't take days off unless absolutely necessary, and I will also have to go to bed AND wake up super early. If I get to work at 6am I would still be leaving at 4:30, which makes for a long day, but it's only 2 hours more. And likewise, if I sleep in until 8am, I would have to work till 6:30!!! No way!! So this will have to be a total dedication thing for me. I hope it works out!
Is it so bad to want to be babied when I'm sick? Most people do, I think. For me it's comforting when someone goes out of their way to make me food, or take me to get my medicine, or to cuddle a little more.
I went to the doctor on Wednesday, and it turns out that I just have really bad allergies. And they are going to last until around April ... Yay. I've never had allergies this bad before. Even in NY ... even living here for over 4 years. This is definitely the worst. Either way, my doctor gave me steroids to bring down the inflamation, Flonase for before bed, and over-the-counter Claritin for during the day.
Bleh. I'm all kinds of drugged up. Not to mention one of the side effects of the steroids is change in sleeping patterns. I went to bed last night after midnight and woke up this morning at 4:30 (maybe before). So I decided to lay in bed till 5 and then start getting ready for work. I clocked in at 5:55 this morning. The only thing I am worried about is crashing around noon and just wanting to sleep. But I suppose if that is the case then I can just leave work early or something. I'm sure they will understand (haha yea right!).
But, hey, if I make it through the day I get to leave at 2:30. Woohoo! Then ... I go home and crash lol.
And then tonight going to Dan's (if he cleaned) and having a BBQ with the guys. That should be fun! Except for the whole me being allergic to their cats ... Oh well. We'll see how it goes.
Hopefully it will be a fun yet relaxing weekend.
Ack! Make the sneezes go away!
Well, I'm finally going to the doctor after work today to get something to clear up this nastiness I have. Probably a sinus infection, so hopefully it will go away in a couple days. If not, it means I am really allergic to Ken :( I'd put up with allergies if that were the case!!!
But I'm sure it's not.
So this week is mid-terms to those of you around me still in school. And that means next week is
SPRING
BREAK
Thursday is ladies night, and Friday is beers with the guys. Gonna be a long week.
This was an awesome weekend. Ken didn't work on Saturday (which I love when that happens) so we spent the day together. I was so nice! We did some errands, stuff around the house, and just relaxed most of the day. We WoW'd a lot and we were up until after 1am running an instance. Oh and I was cooking dinner lol. Which I didn't start until like midnight. But then the oven ended up being broken again and so it had to be cooked on broil, which was interesting. I ended up not even eating and just passing out cause I was so tired.
Sunday was gaming. But, of course, breakfast first! (Which is my favorite part of the week)
Gaming was fun. It was our last session and a lot happened.
Check out the final battle here!
Other than that, nothing else happened. Life is good.
Why has it seemed like the past few weeks have just totally dragged. I've felt really tired and more so unmotivated than usual. The days just drags, but of course the free time seems to fly by. I've tried going to bed early so I can wake up early, but it doesn't matter. I still sleep till the last possible mintue. Bleh. I need a vacation. Just a weekend. Maybe in a couple weeks. If Ken doesn't have too much homework (HA ya right).
We've had good times in Flagstaff/Sedona every time we went. It's relaxing to get out of town even for the weekend. My next major vacation isn't until May, about 2.5 months.
I still have an hour left of work.
It sucks cause everyone else in my area gets to work so early (6-7am) and get to leave at like 2:30-3:30. My lazy ass doesn't get into work till 8-sh and so I have to stay till 4:30. A whole HOUR after everyone else. And this is the time that seems to drag. This is why I blog .. or just mess around on the internet. No one is around :) yay! but it is soooo boring.
This is me ... being bored --->

EDIT:
This is me being even more bored -->

Work
So I've been thinking about blogging this for a while now. Basically there are these 2 "things" at work I want to talk about.
Ok, one of the things is my pet peeve about bathroom stalls. In the bathroom there are 8, plus the handicapped stall. Now, when I go into the bathroom, if there are people already in stalls, I will NEVER take one next to someone else unless there are no other open stalls. THe thing I hate the most is when I go in a stall, sit down to do my business (#1 only), someone else walks in and has to go in to the one right next to me ... while there are 8 other stalls (including the handicapped) to choose from! It frustrates me. I don't mind doing my business while other people are in there, but come on! Give a girl SOME sense of privacy.
Number 2 is not a pet peeve, it's just something I have noticed. I sit closest to the door, which is furthest from the breakroom/timeclock and bathroom. So, when I want a snack or to clock in/out or do my business I have a bit of a walk. I'll usually pass a person or 2 on the way to my destination that I actually talk to (I am not social at all at work). Whenever they greet me, they always say my name - "Hi, Stephanie" "Good Morning Steph!" etc. I have this thing where I don't say anyones' name unless I am trying to get their attention. It's not that I don't know these peoples' names, becuase it's easy to remember the names of the few people I do talk to. Is this strange?
It's been a week since my last post. I guess you can say not much has really been happening. Things have been mostly quiet.
Last Thursday I went to happy hour with my sister. It was a lot of fun. We started off at a restaurant and then headed to karaoke. Late night though. I was exhausted the next day.

Didn't do much Friday or Saturday. Though Ken did finally put up my shelves. (thank you baby!!)
Sunday was fun. DnD'd with the guys. Check out what happened here.
Then, the week started over. Same crap different day.
Ken and I went out to Chili's for dinner last night. It was good. Though I had nasty headaches yesterday so I didn't eat much. My stomach wasn't feeling right.
So, it's hump day again. Daily grind .. bleh. I need a vacation. And medicine to get rid of these freakin allergies.
So, yeah.
Wonder when the guys are gonna plan another get-to-gether .. it was fun :)
