Okay, so my new computer desk arrived yesterday. I am so excited! But very, very sore from putting it together.
Ok, so it goes like this. I love putting together these do-it-yourself desk things. You know the ones .. yea made of press-board. I used to help my dad woth putting together entertainment centers, desks, and the like.
So, I decide that I want to put it together last night cause I hate sitting on the bed trying to play WoW. I proceed to get the 10 ton box ... wondering where I am going to open it up so I can put it together. Now, if you recall how I was noting how small Ken's condo is ... there is nowhere that I could put this thing together.
So I decide to open it up in the hallway, knowing that most of it is just putting the small parts together before putting the bigger ones together. Of course there are a bunch of smaller parts and a handfull of large pieces. Needless to say, most of the way I get things done well. Until I use screws that are too long for one part and it goes through the other side of the wood. Of course I don't realize they were too long until AFTER I re-read the instructions and have moved on. Too late to go back now! So on and so forth, I move into the bedroom becuase I have to put together the bigger pieces. It would be easier to put it together in there then try to move it from the hallway.
I gather everything up and move into the bedroom. After some, ok A LOT, of frustration, I get the desk together and now it's time to stand it up. ARG! Ken stops playing WoW to help (I might have bit his head off if he tried to help before then .. I get kind of focused and people annoy me). After tha it's putting together the drawer and the keyboard shelf and I'M DONE! YES!
Still .. nowhere to sit! I was starving so I grabbed some pizza and kinda took a breath ... sigh .. what a PAIN!
So eventually Ken and I head over to my storage room, aka Andreas' house. I grab my headphones and my chair, head to the grocery store, and finally back home. Kinda funny how it was around midnight by this time and I wasn't tired. Ok, not so funny cause I had adreneline from putting the desk together. (now I own 2 computer desks! man!)
I'm super excited now that my back won't hurt from playing WoW on the bed.
