So yesterday was my first time volunteering to donate blood. I was really nervous cause it was my first time. All in all it wasn't bad. I don't like needles, so i really didn't like that part, but after it was in, I couldn't really feel it. Unless you count the part where my hand started tingling and I got dizzy and light-headed.
So there were 2 choices for giving blood. Just regular donating which takes about 15-20 minutes including paperwork. And Power Red donating, which is where they take blood and separate the red blood cells from the plasma and then keep the red blood cells and put back the plasma in you. Yea I know, kinda freaky huh? That's the one I did and it took about an hour all-in-all. Yea, don't ask me why. I mean the benefits are smaller needle and you get twice as much blood donated. So it wasn't all that bad.
I'm not so sure I'd give blood again. I'd have to see. I mean, I got my fear out of the way and I was more of a baby about it then I should have been. I think I'd rather do the Power Red just cause it's more beneficial in the long run. Plus you only have to give blood 3x a year doing it that way.
I feel like I did my good deed of the year yesterday. I mean, I've done some other nice stuff, or at least I think I have. Anywho, that's my story! Yay!
