So, I'm all kinds of excited. I know some people will read this and be like, "OMG what a dork." But other people will read it and be like "WTF is she talking about." And then other people still will say "How cool!" The last set of people are the people I play WoW with. I got into the guild my friends are in, The Hounds of Rexxar. I'm quite excited to play with this guild.
So far, guild chat and TS has been hilarious to read/listen to. I've already grouped with a couple people, and they seem really cool so far. But I am new to the guild, so things could change. I'm really looking forward to doing MC and BWL eventually. But I know I have a ways to go until I get attuned and all my FR gear.
Ok, so back to the real world. I HATE JURY DUTY. I got a summons in the mail for the end of this month, and it comes with this questionaire you have to fill out. So I went to mail it out yesterday and I slammed my thumb in my car door. OUCH! It still freakin hurts, and so does my whole right arm, from my thumb up to my shoulder. I had a hard time playing WoW cause I couldn't move my mouse! Oh wait, real world here. But I guess it's not all that bad .. a little bruised, but that's all.
So, I have a massage and a chiropractor appt. after work today. YAY! I'm so excited! I haven't had a massage in over a month. Last year, my health insurance used to pay for my massages and the copay was $10 for an hour. Sweetness! But this year they stopped that and now it's $40 for an hour, which still isn't all that bad. Not to mention Robin, my masseuse (wow that looks like it is spelled wrong), is totally awesome. She's totally sweet.
I don't really have anything planned for the weekend, except for WoW. I should probably get out of the house, but everything costs money. And right now, I'm trying to save. I spend money at lunch and that is expensive enough. So, who knows. We'll see what's going on.
Some people measure it by how much money they make (or will make), other people measure it by a position in a company. Maybe it's because you overcame growing up in poverty by now being able to support your family.
To me, being successful has little to do with money, or position, or overcoming hurdles. Don't get me wrong, all of these CONTRIBUTE to success in life, but are not the deciding factor.
To me, being successful means having a family and raising my children well. Of course, children are a ways off, even getting married is a few years away. But I feel that my success will come when I look back at my life, when I am old and grey, and see how my children turned out. If they are well-taken care of, intelligent, responsible, and accountable then I will be happy. I will know that I did an awesome job of raising my children, and helping them prepare for their lives. They will have the means to go to college and get an education. They will be able to do whatever they want, and I will be there to support them in their decisions.
Now, I'm not going to slack and not try to become successful in my career, and in other aspects of my life. Once I figure out what my career is going to be, I will face it head-on. My first priority will be my family. Because money doesn't last, and happiness within memories can never be replaced.
My future is looking bright. I am going to live my life knowing that things are going to remain as long as I don't give up.

So, after work yesterday I ended up going to the hospital to make sure my friend was ok. He was and it turns out this isn't the first time this has happened. So, at least he wasn't totally freaking out. I was there for about an hour and a half before they let him go. I'm glad he's ok.
So on my to the hospital, I was on the US60 and there was like a ton of traffic. Ends up that a car had run off the road (probably like 5 min prior to me getting there) and into a lightpost. A ton of people were stopping to help. I had other things on my mind, like not dying myself cause people aren't paying attention to the road anymore, you know?? So then, after I left the hospital I was on the 101 going home and there was ANOTHER accident. Looked like the guy had a blowout and spun around and was facing north when we all were going south. Damn. It was my lucky day, I suppose. But then again, it's not January anymore.
Today is the Super Bowl, so I will be spending it with the family, sans Ken becuase he has a ton of homework to do :( Big Frown!! Oh well, I will see him before I go to my sisters' and then when I get home. No big deal. So off to breakfast and then to see baby Gavin!
Ugh! So I'm stuck at work, on a Saturday, for 4 whole hours. I'm down to about 2.5 left.
OMG - so much has just happened!
Ok, so I get a call from my friend, Kat, and she wants me and my sister to get a free dinner on the hotel she works with (sweet!). So I'm just waiting on my sister on that one.
Then I get a call from my other friend, Dan, who says another friend just got rushed to the hospital becuase he had a seizure. OMFG!! Dan said he is okay, but they are taking blood tests to make sure. Do I go to the hospital? I'm not fond of them, but if they end up keeping him there, I am blowing everyone else off and going. Dan is going to call me when they bring him home (they are roommates, so it's kinda good). My heart is beating so hard right now! It's scary to hear one of your good friends is in the hospital! :(
Wow. Anything else I write is going to be crappy, so I will end this entry here.
I have a love of blue, so I decided to blog in blue today! Blue makes me happy, and lately I've been kind of bummed. Mostly because I've been getting headaches for the past 3 days. My chiropractor says it's probably becuase of allergies/sinuses. Yay. Gotta love AZ for that. So I didn't go to work yesterday and I left early on Monday. Bleh. Not that I have anything to catch up on here. Only thing is I have to make up 4 hours, possibly on Saturday if Ken is working.
But yesterday I did accomplish things at home. I unpacked my bag-o-clothes and put them in my dresser and the storage we got for under the bed. I hung some pictures up as well. I went to the grocery store and picked up juice and dinner. And I got to level my WoW character to 56! (4 more lvls til 60!!)
Ken and I haven't been really doing much of anything, other than him doing homework or both of us playing WoW. I really hope this weekend we will be able to make it out. We're planning on dinner and a movie. But I guess it all depends on how we both feel and how busy we are. (And this time we will check the movie times before going to the theater and realizing we'd have to wait over 2 hours to see the movie)
So, after work today I'll probably go home, change, grab the stuff to take to my parents, and then go over there. I have a couple things to put away and organize over there. I just kinda put them in my room (which is now a guest room) and my uncle is coming to town on Friday. So I need to clean it before then. And today seems like a good day since Ken has a study group after his class. And unless he says he'll be home by 5, there is no reason for me not to go to my parents.
I need to start saving money and stop spending. I have a bad problem with internet shopping. It's just so easy! Especially when I get emails for sales. Then I go and look, and I'm all like "Ooooh that's cute!" or "But it's on sale for $10.99!" and that is bad!
So I just had to register my car for this year. $389!!!!! For one year! It was over $500 for 2 years (which is actually cheaper in the long run, but a big hit!) So rediculous. But I got new plates too. They're the environmental plates:
I'm also thinking about getting them personalized as well. We'll see.
