So .. Stressed .. Out

UGH!

I'm sitting in the MU right now .. freaking out! I feel like my bones want to jump out from underneath my skin and run amuck. Although I'm sure the fact that I just finished a Venti Soy Chai Latte didn't help.

I waited for 2 hours this morning to speak with the Design Advisor, and I was there at 8:20! So, do the math. This is the worst time to try to see an advisor because everyone wants to figure out their schedules.

So, it basically comes down to Good news/Bad news.

bad news
- I can't be a licensed architect without having a masters degree.

good news
- If I stick with the major of Design Studies in the Built Environment and then take the 3+ MArch program it will only take me 4.5 years.

bad news
- If I go into the Architecture program, it will take me 6, if I am lucky 5.

good news
- I can "cheat" the system. I can declare my major as Architecture so I can take the studio classes, all the while taking classes towards my BA in Design Studies, and then switch at the end. That way I will have content for my portfolio when I apply for MArch program.

bad news
- I still have to take summer classes.

But I registered for the summer, taking ALA 200 Intro to Architecture and re-taking AST 113 Astronomy Lab.

I also registered for my fall classes.

Last Midterm Grade

GRA 440 - Finding Purpose
Not as good a grade as I had hoped, but the rest of my grades are good, so I'll just do some extra credit.

Grades

ALA 100 - Intro to Environmental Design

DSC 100 - Design Awareness
INT 131 - Design and Human Behavior
Ugh .. I'm still waiting on one more midterm grade.

Two more Midterms

I still have to study today for two more midterms that I have tomorrow. I'm not as worried about these as I was for the one that I had last week for Intro to Environmental Design. I just have to go over all the notes. Out of the two that I have tomorrow, the one that I am worried about is for my Finding Purpose class. It's all short answer, so there is no chance of even guessing to get a question right, like in multiple choice. So far, all of my midterms have been like that, and my other one, for Design and Human Behavior, is going to be that way as well. Although, for my Design and Human Behavior class we can have a cheat sheet of notes to bring with us.

I took my second online exam today. I did much better on this one, getting a 90. Oh, but wait, that's really only an 87 because I went 3 minutes over the 50 minute time limit. Bastards. And all because I needed to go to the bathroom!!! I guess I should have been paying more attention to the time. My fault, I know, but it is so stupid!

I went to the gym yesterday. I felt great. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical - 2.25 miles and about 250 calories. Then I did the leg-press machine - 70 lbs. for a short while. I wasn't really paying too much attention on that machine. I didn't feel like I got a workout using it, so I might not use it next time. Maybe I need to up the weight? Who knows.

So, I guess this weekend we are planning on painting. I've been trying to find articles or advice on how to use color to make the room look bigger/taller. Ken wants to keep it simple and white, but the articles I found used color, so that doesn't help in the least bit. I would like to do something along the lines of a two-tone beige/white combo. But it's more work and may not look so good. I'll see what I can find out.

Friday starts my spring break. I am super excited, although I'm not going anywhere. I would so love to just get out of town for a weekend, but that is the only time that Ken and I can work on the condo. I'll find something to keep myself occupied. Start a project or something. Clean up .. try to come up with inexpensive ideas for the kitchen and bathrooms.

If anyone wants to do anything, let me know!

One Grade

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. I'm not 100% happy with my grade, but I did better than I thought I did, which is awesome. I know what the exam is going to be, and I will know (hopefully) what the final will be. There is a girl Ken works with who happens to be in that class with me. So I am going to meet up with her tomorrow and hopefully get a copy of the midterm and the final, if she has them.

I'm still waiting for my grade in my Design Awareness class. If I got an 82 on my Intro to Environmental Design exam, I should have gotten in the 90s on the Design Awareness class. But I am not going to get overly confident. I still could have done way worse than I thought I did.

So, over the weekend, Ken and I did a total overhaul of the condo. Ken rented a carpet cleaner and we both worked really hard to get that carpet clean. And no matter how much we cleaned a spot, the water was still nasty-dirty. We also rearranged the living room, put in the new fridge, and re-organized a few other things. It looks great IMO.

This weekend coming up we might start painting. That is the plan anyways. Ken wants to redo the floors and make most of the house Pergo wood flooring, and then get new couches, coffee table and side table. I think when we are done, the place is gonna look great. I mean, we are going to be living in it for a while, at least until I graduate, so it might as well be comfortable to live in, right?

I am very excited to see how well we can remodel the place!

You don't have to QUIT!

So, I have an account on Facebook, and was checking my stuff when all of a sudden, this ad pops up on the left hand side of my screen. I just had to blog about it because I had to quit WoW so I can continue my education at ASU.

Interesting to think how universities are trying to appeal to the WoW community.
