I had a good weekend

So, birthday weekend turned out to be fun. Didn't do much Friday or Saturday afternoon. I started going tanning with Ali, so I won't be so pale, and so I won't burn when I start mountain biking.

Saturday night I went out to dinner with the family (Mom, Dad, Ali, Doug and Ken) to Ninja. We sat at the Hibachi tables cause it's fun, but it was so freakin hot that after they were done cooking we moved to the dining area where it was a little cooler. I had my first (6) sake bombers there too.

Those are fun. Then I met up with some friends at Fibber McGees.

I want to thank everyone for coming out! It was great to see everyone, since I've become a hermit and don't go out anymore.

I wasn't too bad off on Sunday, considering how much I drank. I was tired and hungry and really didn't want to do anything, so I didn't. Played WoW all day, did some laundry and made dinner. Nothing too exciting.

All-in-all, it was a good weekend. I had a good time and got to spend it with good friends.

It's been an "Office Space" type of week ..

I was driving to work this morning in traffic, and it was bad. Of course the lane I was sitting in was the one not moving, so I decided to change lanes into the one that was moving ... no luck cause that one stopped ... you know how it goes.

Horray, I finally fixed my blogger code to make it xhtml valid. I found this nifty tool that tells you what parts of your html code are valid. I fixed it all almost by myself. But I am proud that I was able to troubleshoot most of it! I still get errors in IE, but oh well. It's a Microsoft product.

So, tonight is karaoke and happy hour with the girls. We're going to the Regal Beagle. I haven't been there in like forever! We had some good times there. I'm looking forward to it. I'll see if maybe I can post pictures after, but I don't have my camera with me, so that kind of stinks.

Tomorrow Ken and I are finally going to REI so I can get my shoes for biking. And hopefully this weekend we will go biking.

My birthday is Saturday as well. I'll be 26. Another year older basically. Brad mentioned something about a BBQ. That would be hella fun. I love hanging out with the guys. Would be nice if more girls came to hang out. Oh well. And sometime soon we're gonna start gaming again. Just waiting on Mike :)

Other than nothing new, things are good

I need a vacation

I spent all day today working on my edit, which is where I check to make sure that all the invoices that were entered in the system from the past week are accurate so I can print checks that will then be sent to the controllers. Sigh. How tedious! But it wasn't all bad cause the day flew by :)

My next class started today, SOC-something. Cultural diversity class. It doesn't look like it's going to be easy! But I have to actually try hard for this class becuase the teacher doesn't seem like he will take any shit.

JennyO! I need your help!! :)

Now I get to go home and eat dinner that Ken is already making! horray!

"Looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays"

Ugh, I hate Monday's. There is nothing good about them. It's the first day after the weekend that I have to wake up early, the traffic is always the worst, for some reason, and work just kinda sucks.

But, I will be home kind of soon. Ok, not really. I still have 4 hours left, plus fighting traffic driving home. Then I will probably have to make dinner and cleanup, and I will have to do laundry .. yuck. I know I will end up going home and taking a nap .. well, I'd like to. I can't do laundry till after 8 anyways.

Maybe I can persuade Ken to take me to REI today to look for shoes. We'll see.

I'M BORED!

Someone help!

I changed the colors around, but I'm not sure if I like them yet or not. I kind of wanted to go with a black background theme, but couldn't think of any other colors that would look okay. If anyone has any suggestions about colors, let me know. I appreciate input!

I think in almost every one of my Friday posts I say TGIF. I am just so glad that tomorrow is going to be relaxing ... well, hopefully. I will probably end up doing some laundry. I'd like to hit the pool or something, but the one by the condo kind of scares me. Plus there are a ton of kids there over the weekend. So, if anyone wants to invite me to use their pool, I'll gladly accept! haha

I'm going to have to go out sometime soon to check out prices on mtn.bike shoes. I'm thinking I'll be spending around $80, plus $50 on shorts, $70 on a Camelback, and $80 on sunglasses. Total ... $280. I'll have to shop around for the best prices though. Anyone have any ideas where the best place to go is? I'm thinking REI, or that's where I am going to start.

So, we're starting up gaming again. I am super excited. That's always fun, and I get to hang out with the guys again. It's going to be different from the last campaign because Mike is making up the characters and we will be randomly rolling for them. So, it should be totally interesting. That is going to be every other Saturday for about 5 hours. Horray!!!

Guess what?!

That's right, folks. I got my mountain bike last night!!! I am so excited about this. Now all I need to buy are: shoes, padded bike shorts, sunglasses, Camelback, and misc stuff.

After I got my bike, Ken and I went to see Sara and KJ in their summer dance program concert. It was interesting. There were a lot of good dances, and some I wasn't too sure of. But all-in-all it was fun. KJ decided that she was gonna steal the show at then end by throwing out her kneecap. Yay! They were on their last song, dancing away, and there went KJ on the floor. The fire department and paramedics showed up and took her away to the hospital. I hope she is okay. It looked really painful, but KJ is definitely a trooper.

After we headed to Applebees for some grub, and then Ken and I went home and I went to bed. Nothing all that exciting really. I just can't wait to ride my new bike!

What is a "Red Party"??

Ok, so I guess I should explain what a "Red Party" is.

Red Party 2005

A red party, simply stated, is just that. Basically everything you wear, eat and drink has to be red. It's just a themed party. If you are not wearing red, then the host/hostess will dress you up with assorted red items including dresses, ties, togas, wigs, hats, etc. The drinks are red - wine, Killians Irish Red, Fruit Punch, Jello Shots. The food is red - not too sure what all kind of food is going to be there, but it will all be red.

If you need further explaining, you have issues. Kthxbuhbye.

It's only Tuesday!

My new drink of choice in the mornings has been Monster Energy - Assault. Almost every morning I stop by 7-11 and pick up one of those and sometimes a bag of chips or candy and always a croissant (they are my weakness). The Monster isn't all that bad tasting, much better than Red Bull IMO.

Yesterday we went to the bike shop again, but found out that since they weren't a Specialized dealer that they can't order the bike I want. Oh well. We'll have to stop by the Tempe store and see if they either a) have it in stock, or b) can order it for me. Too bad it only comes in blue and silver. I guess I'd chose the silver, just cause it goes with more lol!!

So, my birthday is coming up -- July 29th. I'm not sure if I want to do anything, or if I want people to do something for me. I guess it would be nice, but I don't want to seem needy or like an attention whore. KJ is having her 2nd-annual Red Party on Aug. 5th and she said if I wanted to it could be a party for me as well. That would mean I'd actually have to show up then!!! haha We'll see.

I'm excited to get the mountain bike for my birthday. I think it would be the most meaningful birthday present I have gotten in a while. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that things people have gotten me in the past weren't meaningful, I'm just saying that I think that in the long run, this will be a big thing.

Well, back to work. I think I've procrastinated enough =D

Quick blog

Ok, so I had to write a quick blog about this.

I came home from work today and was tired as usual. After putting down all the stuff I was carrying, I decided to lay down in bed next to Ken. We were chatting about the day, then he got up to do something, and I got up as well.

Anywho, long story short, I laid back down, closer towards the bottom of the bed, and Ken comes up next to me and, instead of saying "Move up," he says ...

"Scroll up!!!"

Wow, he's been on the computer waaaaaay too often!

We had a laugh, and I told him I was blogging about it cause it was so funny. Well, at least to us anyway. Tonight was a giggly kind of night to begin with, so it kinda went along with it. I love him so much! He makes me laugh often, even those days when I don't want to.

Specialized

Ok, so things didn't go as I thought they would have this weekend. On Saturday Ken and I went to look for a mountain bike for me. I did end up finding one that fit me just right. The problem was that it was way expensive. BUT, the good thing is that they make the same size in a different model. Most of the bike shops were running low on inventory, or at least with what I wanted, because the new 2007 models were being shipped this week. So, hopefully the bike I want will be in stock.

Specialized 2006 FSRxc Womans

And, because I didn't get the bike we didn't go riding Sunday morning. But that's okay. I can wait .. .. .. ok, no I can't, but I have to. No big deal. But I will show the specs of the bike I want.

Reconnecting

Wow, it's only Wednesday. I thought yesterday was Wednesday until I met my mom for lunch and she was like, Uh no. Dang. It has been pretty slow for us here the past 2 days. Kind of different than yesterday! But we didn't get much mail then, so we just had to finish up what we had. I've been basically messing around on the internet since, doing a bit of training at KBU, reading up on different positions at KBhome, etc. But, this isn't going to last. I'm sure we're gonna get slammed with mail today. That's fine by me, I just don't want to get so much that I will have to give work away to other people. I don't like other people helping me out becuase they usualy do more harm than good. I'm always fixing other peoples' mistakes. At least if I make mistakes I can only blame myself.

I really wanted to go to the bike shop after work today, but Ken wants to raid. Maybe I will go anyway. We'll see. I am super excited to start mountain biking. It looks like a lot of fun and its a good hobby. Ever since moving to Az, I've become quite the outdoors type. I love camping, going to the lake, grabbing a couple wave runners, hiking, biking, all that jazz. I even surprise myself. Heck I don't even really mind the bugs in the woods, as long as they stay out of my tent lol.

I've been very excited. Myspace has actually come in handy. I was able to connect with a bunch of people I grew up with. You know, the people I've known since like elementary school. It's awesome. Moving away has made me realize how much I miss their friendship. Kinda sappy, I know, but I see all these pictures of people who are still friends, since HS, and I don't really have that here. I love my friends here, don't get me wrong. But I never went to HS with them, let alone elementary school. I want to make a trip back sometime before the winter. And now, since I can keep in touch with people, I will have something to do there.

I should find some embarassing pictures of people from when we were younger and post them .. haha .. that would be funny!

Mountain biking

Phew. This week has been a bit hectic. Not overwhelming though. I like keeping busy. It makes me feel like I am being productive. Work is good. I'm busy at work. Always something to do :)

Other than work, things have been great. I had a very relaxing weekend. Ken didn't work on Saturday (yay!) so we went to see a movie. Superman Returns is awesome btw. We were going to see Pirates2 but it was crazy packed. After the movie we went to Jenn(from jury duty)'s house for her fiancée's birthday. It was a lot of fun, and we ended up being one of the last people to leave. Thanks to Steve and Jay for coming and hanging out! It was a blast.

Yesterday Ken and I went to his bike shop to look at a mountain bike for me. I am super excited. Ken knows a lot about mountain bikes, so it makes it so much easier to pick out the right bike for me. When I do finally get one, we will be able to go biking together! It will be great exercise, and we will get out of the house and spend quality time together. Hey, perfect combination if you ask me :) I ended up getting some riding gloves and Cliff Bars (cause they are oh-so good!).

I hope I get it soon so we can go biking. I know Ken has been itching to go out again, and it will be a lot easier when we go together to go more often.

Sweet!

Yay

I ended up chatting with my financial advisor yesterday and she said that I had another dispersement of my financial aide come in on July 3rd. w00t! That means I won't have to pay for my next class, but the one after I will. That is so much better cause now I can save up for that class. Though I still might have to do some sort of payment plan if I don't have enough money, but that is fine with me.

So, tonight I am taking Ken out to dinner. I'm looking forward to that. His dad might be coming along, too. It will be nice. And then I can give Ken his b-day present. I don't think he will like it though. I'm bad at buying gifts.

Anywho, work is going well. I've been busy, but not going crazy. The day just flys by. And I learned one thing about myself at work - I don't like writing the number 5.

Ugh! Just got slammed at work with incoming mail. Over 1k invoices received today. Normally it's like 400 at most. This sucks.

Oh well, back to work!!

Hump Day

So I'm actually kinda bummed. Turns out I will have to pay more money out-of-pocket for school than I had expected. My next classe is almost full price and the class after is full price. Totally sucks!

I don't know what I am going to do. If I can't get on some sort of payment plan, school is a no-go.

Other than that, things are going well. Spent yesterday at the parents house. We had brats and burgers. It was so good, except I overate :(

Today is Ken's Birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

I'm taking him out to dinner tomorrow for his birthday to P.F.Chang's. It's good food and pretty inexpensive!

I still want to go see Superman soon. Thought the guys were going to over the weekend, but no one called me. Oh well.
